About Davis County

Davis County is known as “Utah’s Amusement Capital” and an excellent spot for an all-inclusive day of fun for both travelers and Utah locals. Conveniently located between the crest of the Wasatch Mountains to the east and the Great Salt Lake to the west, the county has much to offer. Station Park is a large outdoor shopping and lifestyle center that shouldn’t be missed. In addition to the exciting attractions located here, there are more than 400 delicious restaurants and an abundance of outdoor adventures.

Most famously, though, the state’s only amusement park Lagoon brings in hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Generations of Utah families have enjoyed Lagoon on more than 50 rides, a water park, a historic Pioneer Village, great food and games. However, it isn’t the only show in town! The local water park and amusement center, Cherry Hill, sits atop what used to be a working fruit farm. Enjoy mini-golf, trampolines, water slides, and a lazy river amidst over 700 trees (mostly cherry) for a shady day of fun!

Beyond the amusement centers in the county, outdoor lovers will appreciate the easy access to both mountains and the Great Salt Lake, taking advantage of the many popular recreational opportunities here. Over 500 miles of trails for hiking and biking ranging from easy to difficult really keep people moving. In fact, the Denver and Rio Grande Western Rail Trail connects Weber and Salt Lake counties for both commuters and those who want to continue south to Utah Lake.

Antelope Island State Park offers unmatchable scenery from the middle of the Great Salt Lake. This 28,022-acre island is the largest island in the lake, habitat to American bison, deer, coyotes, antelope and hundreds of bird species. Without a doubt, it is one of the best destinations for wildlife viewing in the region. The park also has over 36 miles of hiking and biking trails, miles of sandy beaches for access to swimming, and still home to the historic Fielding Garr Ranch. Visitors can enjoy camping, horseback riding, hiking, biking and floating in the world-famous salty waters.
